He attended Concordia College, St. Paul, Minnesota (1968-72) where he met Elizabeth (Mueller), his wife. They have three daughters.
He received his Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Theological Seminary, Springfield, Illinois in 1976.
He finds relaxation in doing landscape and vegetable gardening at home, taking long walks with Elizabeth, "antiquing", as well as spending quiet time in the summer at the lake shore. Up until 2001 he enjoyed helping with the high school wrestling team as a volunteer assistant coach.
Prior to serving at Zion, he served at Peace Lutheran Church, Antigo, Wisconsin, for 25 years and prior to that he was the pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ruston, Louisiana. He loves the privilege of being able to share the truth of Jesus Christ with the Zion congregation and the Hopkins community.

This office is filled by Howie Krienke who has been at Zion since 1979. His primary role at Zion is the shepherding and
visiting of members, potential members and inactive members of Zion. His ministries include Lutheran Friends, Human Care,
teaching Adult Bible Classes and hospital visitation. Howie has been married to Linda since 1968 and has four children:
Jeremy, Lisa, Josh and Lindsay. He has previously served in St. Paul; Beach and St. Peter Belfield, North Dakota.

The Director of Life Long Learning is responsible for all adult and children's educational learning.
Vicki invites us into God's presence through many options and ministries which connect us to the Scriptures.
Her responsibilities include recruitment and resources for Sunday School, Adult Bible Class, Small Group Ministry,
Wednesday Adventure Club, After School at Zion and our annual Vacation Bible School. As a lifelong member of Zion,
Vicki has a thorough understanding of Zion's needs and a great heart for children.

Bonnie Shelton

Bonnie Shelton is the one handling the office details. Her responsibilities
include keeping all official records, project manager for larger tasks, primary assistant to the Administrative
Pastor and much more. Her management and personal skills help keep the office and congregational programs functional.

Teresa attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. She graduated with a B.S. in Middle Grades Education and lived most of her life in Georgia. She is married to a Minnesotan. After teaching for a while, Teresa decided to change careers and relocated to MN. Duties include worship bulletins, worship and music presentations, answering the telephone, and other general office duties. She loves Zion!

If it happens musically, and it's in worship, it is the responsibility of Katie Wareham. She is Zion's primary organist and pianist as well as the director of the sanctuary choir, handbell choir, contemporary groups and bands.

Rick Tupa

Keeping up with our 40+ year old facility, boiler and making sure the grounds reflect the excellence which
we strive for just barely touches the surface of the responsibilities of Rick Tupa. Because of Rick's attention
to detail, along with the help of the Board of Trustees and volunteers, Zion's facilities welcome people
to worship and weekly activities -- no matter the weather.

Lisa Day “Director of Student Ministries”
On January 1, 2008 Lisa Day began serving Zion congregation on a full
time basis. Since October 1, 2006 Lisa had been serving Zion on a part
time basis. Lisa is an eighteen year veteran of youth ministry in the
LCMS. She has served congregations during that time in California, Illinois
and Minnesota. She is originally from the Wayzata area graduating from
Wayzata High School and Concordia University, St. Paul. Her family continues
to live in the Twin City area. At the May 20, 2007 Voters meeting Lisa’s
position was shifted from a “contract” basis to a “Call”
basis. We are very thankful for Lisa’s ministry to the youth and
their families of our congregation and look forward to her ministry among
us for many years to come.

The Zion Early Childhood Center is led by Director Judy Fuhrman. ZECC is a state-licensed center which nurtures the children it serves with Christian love and care. Judy handles the management of the center, and her main desire is to share God's love with the staff, children and families in professional and devoted fashion. It is her goal and vision for ZECC to provide a safe secure Christian learning environment where the children will experience the Lord?s love.
